Visions Of Atlantis - Pirates II: Armada - review

Visions Of Atlantis - Pirates II: Armada
Visions Of Atlantis was started in 2000, so they have been present on the music market for over 20 years and have recorded 8 studio albums so far. Personally, I found them familiar by occasion of their album "Pirates" from 2022 and the single "" that was present at our Stef Metal Chart reaching 14th place (it is 136th on current All Time List between 208 songs that reached Top 20). And now, on July 05th, 2024 their ninth studio album "Pirates II: Armada" was released. And it continues the style of the previous album, as the title itself suggests.

The album starts with delicate and intriguing intro "To Those Who Choose to Fight" leading to the next "The Land of the Free", which begins quite monumentally, although unfortunatelly it is one of weaker compositions on the album. Overall, we get quite a diverse set of songs, as there are stronger songs among them, with few symphonic ballads. And unfortunately, these ballads are, in my opinion, the weakest. The best songs in my opinion are the title track "Armada" (starting fast, having quite fast but little lighter verse and fuller chorus), "" (candidate for the next week of our Chart) and the last on tracklist "Where the Sky and Ocean Blend" (an energetic song combining faster and slower parts). And placing album's strong part at the end, right after the calm ballad "Underwater", a is very clever move by the way, leaving listeners wanting more, so keeping them in a good mood.

Tracklist:
  1. To Those Who Choose to Fight
  2. The Land of the Free
  3. Monsters
  4. Tonight I’m Alive
  5. Armada
  6. The Dead of the Sea
  7. Ashes to the Sea
  8. Hellfire
  9. Collide
  10. Magic of the Night
  11. Underwater
  12. Where the Sky and Ocean Blend

Lineup:

My note
7/10
