[Review] Frozen Crown - The Legend of the Six Kings

"" – this was the track that drew me to the new album from Frozen Crown, "The Legend of the Six Kings". A few weeks ago, when this composition debuted on Stef Metal Chart, I had a feeling that the upcoming record might turn out to be the best album of this year. Did my expectations come true? Let’s find out.

The beginning of the album delivers four fantastic tracks. The first of them is the dynamic, fast, and thrilling "Lightning in the Sky", which later turned out to be the best track on the record. There is also the aforementioned, more melodic and Tolkien-inspired "The One".
And just when it seemed that this could indeed be a hit release, we hit a cover of Goo Goo Dolls' "Iris", which is the weakest point of the album and the start of its weaker section. Unfortunately, the next 3-4 tracks are just average playing that lowers the overall quality of the album. Luckily, the title track "The Legend of the Six Kings" appears at the end – a long, epic composition that leaves the listener in a pleasant mood.
The album as a whole has its strong and weak sides. It is not an outstanding masterpiece, but in certain moments it can really delight the listener.
